running windows xp after vista installation

Problem running windows xp after vista installation

Hi, I previously installed windows vista beta 2, and everything appeared to work correctly untill I tried to boot back into windows xp. I chose "boot to previous version of windows" from the boot menu, and the grey bar at the bottom of the screen filled up to 100%, and then just froze. I left it for hours and still nothing happened. I can only boot into vista now. If anybody knows the solution to this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Sorry flash but i think you have lost it,I am in same position, but was not bothered about this, have read that the only way to not lose xp was to partition the hard drive installing xp on one side, then vista on other, and when on install vista ask to file windows xp click no. As you probally know the program files are still their, windows files and windows old files on the hard drive and old programs are still available to access. You could still try partitioning and reinstalling xp.If your having boot up problems with some programs the vista has program compatabillity I think in program tools, wich allows to run your problem programs in older windows then save it for each program you sellect. hope this has been off help, bye Flash -- maurice uk 52
